Our brain and bowels are under examination in the exhibition Mind the Gut. Through a thought-provoking blend of science, art and history, the exhibition explores the complex connections between our mind and our guts. Brain, gut feelings, identity, bowels, bacteria, microbiomes – all interlinked. Text: Medical Museion

The title Landscape Epithelia, indicates the conception of a direct causality in scale between the microscopic landscapes of the human organism and it´s surrounding environment. Like an embodied version of Google Earth it shows an interactive map allowing the viewer to navigate and deep zoom into the microscopic levels of a hybrid, yet homogeneous surface programmed from close ups of the artist´s intimate organism merged with images of the earth. Landscape Epithelia is a digital interactive map of a body, both real and imagined. It is composed of MRI scans and microscopy images of the artist’s brain and guts. The composition follows the artist’s intuition, guided by visual associations. Choices about image processing always lie somewhere between art and science. Text: Naja Ankarfeldt & Adam Bencard
